2021 NHL Trade Deadline

The 2021 NHL trade deadline is April 12th, at 3PM EST.

It might sound too early to start talking about this, but this is a hockey blog isn’t it?

With the Covid-19 protocols in place, trades between the North division and the other 3 divisions will be one-sided. If you’re up North and looking to add assets to go deep in the playoffs, you basically have a 2 week period for your newcomers to actually start playing for your club. Your only solution is to trade within your own division which is practically impossible to accomplish.

Players on Trade List for the 2021 NHL Trade Deadline

It’s pretty easy to identify these players, they are usually big impact players with one of the following criteria:

  • UFA next Year
  • UFA the year after and definitely doesn’t want to re-sign with the team
  • Isn’t on good terms with Torts 😂
  • Bratty RFA
  • Potential for more responsibilities but no room on their current team to be given a bigger role.

Without further ado…

1 – Taylor Hall – LW – Buffalo Sabre

LW – 29yo – 29GP / 1G / 12A / 13P – UFA with a $8M Cap Hit

At first glance it’s like… Wowzaaa!!! .5 point per game production with that cap hit? Is Taylor Hall on the decline or is it just Buffalo being Buffalo again!?

Who’s buying?

Who’s selling?
